Week
17 in Bhutan. Spontaneous play dates with neighbourhood kids; beautiful
dappled sunshine through oak leaves on the long walk home; delicious
dinners cooked by fabulous Mister Matt
(and woohoos from my students when I used it as an example of
reciprocity in class!); college party with chillip friends; morning
cycle through the forest on Mister Matt's bike;
morning-tea-turns-into-lunch with lovely teacher friends and their
family, AND finally teaching in safe territory in social theory (goodbye
Durkheim, Weber, Marx!), if not anthropology - teaching successes in
poststructuralism and the anthropology of gift giving. Phew! Thanks
Bhutan!
